Most people would describe me as reasonably organised (my nickname at an old workplace was Bree Van Der Kamp from Desperate Housewives as I liked to keep my stationary draw very organised!) so I am in favour of planning my daughters parties, however I do it more of a way of getting thoughts out of my mind so I can sleep at night rather than do it to be super organised! So is it worth planning or do you just wing it?
My sister, her husband and my little niece Melanie have just welcomed into the world little Josie Sara-Louise who was born on 21 August 2013. She is a little gem with lots of dark hair so apparently we just have girls with hair as that seems to be the pattern! Here is a little photo of the beauty….
So Melanie (Pixie as we like to call her) has now become a big sister and to celebrate and ensure she feels included I am sending her down a little pressy as well as one for Josie. And in this parcel I will be including a Rainbow Favour Bag to celebrate her becoming a big sister and to also help keep her busy on those hospital visits!
So why not order a Favour Bag for the new Big Brother or Sister in your life and help keep them happy and busy while mum and dad attend to the new bub. If you want to purchase just one they start at $5, the postage is reduced to $1.80 so go to website, pick your bag name and bag colour and send me an email and I will email you a Paypal invoice.
We recently went on a trip to Strawberry Fields which is located in Palmview on the Sunshine Coast. It was a great day out and really enjoyed watching Isabell and her little friend Maddie picking the strawberries. If you live on the Coast or up for a holiday and have little ones I highly recommend going and there is a great cafe so you can sit and have something yummy to eat while the kids play in the sun. Visit their website for more information as it is a seasonal operation.
Iz loves strawberries at the moment which is great seeing they are in season and easily gobbles down a punnet every day or so. But there are also some great things you can make for parties that involve strawberries. Why not try the following at your next party? Click on photos and it will take you to pinterest site where you can find more details on how to make.
Don’t forget to follow Small Favours on pinterest as we are constantly adding more party ideas the will insipre and challenge you!
Yes I just googled Yoda Sayings in order to announce I am working on a STAR WARS favour bag and decorations.
Now I am not a huge fan of Star Wars (don’t send me hate mail for saying that), in truth I have not watched any of the originals and I think I saw only one of the newer ones and remember Natalie Portman trying to be older than she looks! Anyway I have to thank my dear friend Jen and her son (my godson) Larne for showing me the way….the Star Wars way!
(On a side note please visit my talented friends website as she does the best photography and is based at Hervey Bay but services the Coast – visit www.jennifermccuephotography.com.au)
Larne requested a Star Wars party and of course I was happy to provide it for him. So stay tuned for a new favour bag which will include a lightsaber (albeit mini version) and a darth vader character that talks and has glowing eyes. But I am most excited about the decorations pack I am putting together. Now as you might already realised, I am not doing the standard version of themes, I like to add a twist and make it look different to the norm.
Here is a sneak peek and hope to have it all up on the website and ready to sell before October…considering that is when Larne’s birthday is!!!
Let me know what you think and please make any other suggestion that you might want to purchase from www.smallfavours.com.au and make sure your follow our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SmallFavours to ensure you get all the latest updates.
For those following us on Facebook you would already be aware I am working on a Superheros Favour Bag and Decoration Pack. I am getting close to launching on the website but just waiting on some deliveries and am very excited about it.
So I thought I would share it on the blog and show another little sneak peak of one of the items in the Favour Bag.
The $6 Superhero Favour Bag will include the standard bag of mixed lollies, balloon, party blowout and be in your choice of coloured stand up chevron paper bag ( I recommend the Red or Yellow to go with the theme colours) and will also include a Superhero Mask, sticky wall walking man and a make your own Superhero double pack! Yes that is right you can design and make our own superhero. How cool is that?
Here is a sneak peak of the make your own Superhero which consists of two wooden pegs (which become your superheros), two felt capes with stars and string to tie and instructions on how to do it all.
It is super easy and you can colour in your superhero anyway you want and add symbol or letters to the chest to really make it your own. My example is shown and lets face it I am not the best at drawing but still think it looks pretty cool.
I am also working on a decoration pack which will consist of heap of great co-ordinating items which make planning and setting up your party a breeze. The pack will include 3m Happy Birthday Banner with ribbon to tie up, 24 cupcake toppers on sticks, 6 x Superhero cutouts which can be stuck on walls or hung from string, 12 x paper wristbands, 1 x welcome sign, 1 x Happy Birthday sign, 5 x flags for straws, 1 x Kapow sign and best of all 10 x stickers for guests to stick on their chests and become a superhero. All this is printed on 160gsm quality paper and assembled by hand and a great way to make your party really come alive. Below is an example of what is included, but a full set photo will be shown on the website so you can see it all in action.
